Awaken set, horror escape room in Barcelona

I want to try it, but I’m not sure I can handle it. It’s the line we hear most before a horror escape room. The good news: in a good horror escape room in Barcelona, you can choose how scared you get. Here’s what happens inside, what the actors do, and how to pick the right intensity for your group.

What makes a horror escape room scary

The fear doesn’t come from one thing, but from several together:

Is there physical contact?

It’s the number-one question, and it depends on the mode:

If you have specific questions, message us before booking or check our FAQs.

The three intensities, explained

Both our rooms are played in the same physical space at different intensities: what changes is the actors’ approach, the scares, and the light and sound effects.

Horror (16+): for people who want to suffer (in a good way)

High horror and constant scares. This is the version that made Achijira the best horror escape room in Catalonia at the Escape Room Awards. Recommended from age 16, although for younger players you can ask us and we can tone it down.

Mystery (Awaken) / Tension (Achijira) (12+): the middle ground

Suspense and an unsettling atmosphere, with occasional scares. Ideal for mixed groups, where some want fear and others not so much.

Adventure (12+): zero scares

No scares, more puzzles. Same room, different tone.

How to choose for your group

Quick questions

What if I panic? The game master is watching over the group the whole time. Tell them about anything during the briefing, before you start.

Is it very hard? No experience needed: game masters give hints if you get stuck. It works just as well for first-timers as for veterans.

Does Horror mode cost more? No. Every mode of a room costs the same (see prices).

Can someone with heart problems play? We don’t recommend it: you need to move around and the tension is high.
